Hall of Shame: Banned substances in MMA

There has been a lot about steroids in MMA over the last little while. But it is really hard to find a list of athletes that have tested positive.

Those who are testing positive are giving this sport a bad name. They need to be identified publicly, their records questioned, and monitored by us the public. I don't care if it is a famous fighter, or a nobody, we need to know who they are.

So, I am proposing this Hall of Shame because it pisses me off.

I think Bullshido is the place that a list like that could find a home as a thread in the forums. I am limiting myself to fighters who have tested positive for a banned performance enhancing substance. Each name has the substance, or result, and a link to an article about the positive test. Feel free to add to the list.

its not how good you are...... its how good your chemist is

i like the sherk and franca ones because they both got done for the same fight.
but fraca said "yes sorry i did it " and sherk said "no i didnt i've never even heard of Nandrolone"

Ha, Sheffield.
I was supposed to interview for a job there but had to pull out. Was a little worried about the bjj scene (the highest ranked instructor I could find was a purple).

I like the idea of this list, but I don't think Karo belongs on it. Those are all opioids, or pain killers.

Yeah that's a decent point. I've wondered if he was actually -on- them during that fight or if they were just still in his system from previous use anyway, because I've been issued drugs containing two of those substances and I can testify that they are certainly not performance enhancing by any stretch of the imagination.

Barnett was almost certainly off-cycle but the metabolites hadn't finished running through his system. It's quite likely they would have by fight time, when it should have mattered.

As for pain killers, they kill pain. It doesn't bother you as much, you reacte differently to it. While I've said the same thing about them before, they still kill pain which is not allowed.
