So now we get to continue hearing Barnett trump himself up as the 'One who would beat Fedor' without the risk of getting proven wrong, and without the risk of ever having to prove it.
All of this based on a single split decision victory over the guy Frank Mir knocked out, and an old juiced win over an old Couture.
Okay, that's unfair to Nog, who was the legit #2 or #3 Heavyweight on the planet at the time of the Barnett fight, but still. Barnett is a decent boxer and a good ground fighter, but nowhere near as good as the rankings he's been getting. Sadly, now we won't get to see that proven, and JB will be able to go merrily along beating up second tier fighters. -

Umm, I really don't think so. More likely, Barnett will be the pariah who finished off Affliction. The only people interested in him will be Dana (for lolz) and Japanese Pro Wrestling.
Lots of fighters have been busted for steroids, none have done in such a douchebag fashion and caused a fight card to fold. Josh may go the way of Floyd Landis (Tour de France winner/not!)Many things we do naturally become difficult only when we try to make them intellectual subjects. It is possible to know so much about a subject that you become totally ignorant.

From what I hear, and I'm no deep insider for sure, but Joshy screwed the pooch on this one. He knew he was going to be tested, if the test happened after the fights it'd be different; but he fucked up months of training and effort for a dozen fighters (scheduled and alternate hopefuls) and the already gasping Affliction recieved it's last nail in the coffin lid thanks to Josh.
I don't think he has many friends right now. Many things we do naturally become difficult only when we try to make them intellectual subjects. It is possible to know so much about a subject that you become totally ignorant.

Excellent news indeed, it's also reported on sherdog now. If Strikeforce can set up Heiron vs. Diaz, they can still have a kickass Aug. 15th card even without the Werdum vs. Overeem.
I still hope the other fighters on the card find decent-paying promotions.
Won't someone please adopt these poor, abandoned fighters from the rescue shelter? -
