Dark Alley Defence

New School, but a lot of potential. One of the few schoools out there that teaches traditional Irish Martial Arts as they were used in the mid to late 18th century. Very Welcoming atmosphere, though a very small number of students at the moment. Sessions are held in a local gym or at a park. Teaches basic self defense techniques through a combination of Wing Tsun, Krav Maga and Muay Thai. Emphasis is put on use of force laws and escaping the situation.

Traditional Irish Martial Arts of Boxing-Wrestling-Kicking and stick fighting are taught seperate from the self defense course. With an ever growing interest in these arts, classes are projected to grow once the recession lets up.

Full contact sparring and application of techniques used is emphasized. As well as using the environment around you, I.E. Walls, chairs, bricks, bottles etc...

Gee, Hazey, any more info about this schoool? Do you work out there? Seems more than a little hazy.

So this is by far the worst school review/report I've ever seen.

This is the bestest school - I'm gonna have a Harp to celebrate!

(Uh, care to explain the scores you posted? I'll give you a softball-question to start with.)

The instructor page says, "Hays has also studied the methods most criminals use to attack and accomplish what ever goal they may have. He has also read dozens of books and seen over hundreds of documentaries and seminars on criminal methodology, rape prevention, and self defense."

Please elaborate on the first sentence. Please tell me the second isn't the basis of instruction.

I was rating the school based on what the ratings were described to mean. That paragraph was written by Hays' wife and after I brought this up it was removed. Because it could be misconstrewed as basis for instruction, she was just trying to say he was educated in those areas.

Thanks for pointing this out.
