    WWF is better then WCW.
    I use to watch NWA.
    Remember in Atlanta, when Rick Flair was part of the Four Horseman and then Vince McMahon paid him big bucks and he sign to wrestle for the WWF.

    It all sounds like bullshit to me, for everyone but Dana White that is.

    Dana White = Vince McMahon
    UFC = WWF
    WCW = Pride
    the numerous other professional wrestling organizations full of new young guys and old has beens = the numerous other professional MMA organizations full of new young guys and old has beens
    Joe Rogan = Gene Okerlund
    Bas Rutten = Bobby Heenan
    Brock Lesnar = Brock Lesnar

    You don't here about this kind if crap with other professional individual sports. You will never hear:

    "I don't know how you can say Tiger Woods is the best golfer in the world because he plays for the International Golf Alliance. We think that our players here in the Professional Golf Federation are the best so until he signs a 5 tournament exclusive deal with us, and grants us the right to sell Tiger Woods action figures, nobody can say he is the best."

    Fedor doesn't stand for that. The man once left Pride to fight a new year's eve special for Inoki Bom Ba Ye, the same night of a Pride shockwave.

    Imagine if a UFC champion abandoned the promotion to fight in a counter programming event. Dana would kill himself from F bomb exhaustion.

    I wonder what that would actually look like. How would you write that up in a coroner's report.

    Yeah, it is great to see those NFL guys spending their off season playing arena league football.

    That's not what's happening here. Strikeforce shares fighters.

    That doesn't mean they're going to put one of the fighters they need for one of their biggest cards into an extremely high-risk situation where they could get a medical disqualification just before their own show.

    It is mindboggling that in 2009, someone still doesn't understand why different MMA companies don't just share their talent willy nilly.

    Considering there are no other individual sports with exclusive promotions that orchestrate venues and limit competitors, Upa's analogy to the NFL is just as apt (if not moreso, because it's not stage theater and the NFL is performance-based) as your WWF parallel.

    I'm pretty sure that if there were a real, appreciable risk that Woods' participation in a put-put tournament would result in injuries that would prevent him from competing in a televised event that we would really quickly find contract requirements similar to MMA exclusivity.

    That's why my NFL/Arena league comment stands.
