Yo, Ohana rocks! Been training there for 3 months now. Check it in Grayslake, Illinois. My coach is a BJJ Brown under Charuto Verisssimo, (BjJPenn's Instructor). Top notch bro!

talk about a barrage of info
In summation your argument denotes a lack of intellectual honesty on your part. It is my contention that this matter would best be solved with fisticuffs. I believe I will be victorious in this regard.

Yeah, I have been training at Ohana Martial Arts for a while now. Been at a few Jiu-Jitsu schools before Ohana and it took a little time to adapt to their slow downed technical pace but my game has jumped. It's a really laid back gym with a great positive vibe. The head coach is a Brown Belt coming up on his Black under Charuto. Charuto comes out from Hawaii a few times a year to train us. BTW, Charuto is BJ Penn's Jiu-Jitsu coach!

They have no fight team? What is your background? How does the school get a 7 in striking? 10 is a bit high in grappling..none of the instructors look like they compete.

I give Ohana a 7 in striking because they teach a real solid technical foundation. Great training for those of us who want to get a solid kickboxing foundation without are nose being busted for work the next day. And for their Jiu-Jitsu program, Chris has a gift for breaking the art down and has created an awesome training environment for us. He is coming up on his BJJ Black Belt under "Charuto Verissimo" which will make him one of Charuto's first American Black Belts outside of BJ Penn and his brothers Reagan and Jay. I think that sais a lot about his understanding and ability in the art.

nevermind, I thought they were advertising as mma.

Ohana is mostly a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy. I know there is a couple guys who are fighting MMA, but Chris is very selective in allowing his students to do so. Very BJJ heavy here. Ohana does have a BJJ Team headed by Charuto which will be merging with BJ Penn's Academy at the Pan Ams next year (guess you can consider that a fight team).

can't comment on the striking instruction as I haven't taken any of it. but the place is a lot of fun and Chris is an awesome grappling instructor.
