Sooo, um is this John Benedict been investigated before? If not it might be worthwhile to take a look into his background.

To be honest I bet he checks out fine, as in I have no reason to believe he forged any documents or bought ranks. He may just be nuts living in a fantasy land.

    A couple of thoughts:

First though you should know what a death match is, because everyone here talks about Gong Sau and death matches were the order of the day back in the day.... A death match technically is a fight until one of the participants cannot continue any longer... "death" implying that your opponent could kill you if he continued. Just to give you an idea I have fought about 5 death matches.... thats a fact. Also they sound really great but as you can see they are not about fighting to the death. Now a days you don't hear about them because of submission fighting.

You shouldn't have done what you did but he was more wrong than you were. He was obviously an arrogant ass to assert you should reward him, I hate when people do that. I know his people he is not all that. Yes they will back him but psfffffft!

He was way wrong to attack you. **** that **** he was in his school and looking to give a beat down. You did not challenge him you were an ass to him and you got called on it. He conveniently took it as a challenge.

heres your part in it LI GUy. You are an arrogant ass to assert what you did and frankly a lot of guys from that generation would have put you in against one of their guys to shut you up where I am from.... Next time politely decline and walk away and ask nicely if you can leave a flyer. What you did was open yourself up to ridicule by disrespecting the man in his school... for his part he did not have to call you on it. But if he is acting like an arrogant ass chances are he would do what he did.

What you fail to realize here is that you were inviting him to a fight. **** to be honest there was about 5 ways we could do that traditionally... one way would guarantee you got into it when you asked, some ways you could get into it... if your gi was folded a certain way, carried just such and you were courteous you could just give the invitation off and leave.
This thread never was a high quality conversation - My friend vern Gilbert on the William Acquier thread.

Dismon3387: This is the 21st century, not ancient Japan. No matter what, even is I am an ass, you have no right to hit someone unless in self defense. Also, the old rules of challenges do not apply, as this is not old times, this is a bunch of white people in the USA in the 21st century.

Lastly, more like I called him on being an arrogant ass. I am a nice guy, and when you talk down to me and belittle me, I won't just take it, but I won't attack you over it. I was on my way out the door.

More assholes need to be adjusted in life. He should have control over his emotions enough to not fight over something like words.

Even kids learn "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me".

As far as inviting him to a fight....um no, to do so I would have to say "lets fight". Why? Because this is modern times, not some fantasy anime`.

I usually like your posts. Here you almost sound like a ninjer.
How did Li come off as arrogant from his side of the story at all? Seems to me he handled himself very well in the face of a rude, arrogant man.

Not everyone deserves respect, he clearly shows he does not by the way he carries himself.

Have these people been invited to the forum for a discussion on what happened?
