Cutting/Making weight can be one of the most mentally sapping and physically daunting things for a fighter or grappler to do. However, all things being even, there is a definitely advantage to competing in a weight class that is much lower than your "walking weight".
Cutting weight and cutting weight correctly and healthy are two vastly different things which can directly affect the way you compete the following day (or sometimes the same day).
