You mean like what happened to catch wrestling in the US in the last century?

It depends on which people you mean. The people who wanted catch to remain a legitimate sport didn't turn it into pro wrestling as we know it today. It happened because they were outnumbered by the people who wanted to see worked fights.

I don't think MMA is at risk of that happening. Maybe because pro wrestling still exists as a separate entertainment venue for those who want it, and MMA remains popular enough among its current fans to keep the sport true to itself.

I wonder if Lesnars antics were choreographed to please certain MMA fan demographics - i.e. the types shown in Bruno.

Mir looked pretty messed up after that fight. I don't think Lesnar broke a sweat or took even a hit.
Your a WWE fan who just got into MMA right?

So you don't know that Mir is a former champion,
that he BEAT Lesnar, last time they fought and,
had just defeated the only other title hopeful in the UFC?
    Right?

Either that or your as big a douchbag as him.

I know that Mir is a former champ. I also know that last time they fought Mir won because the ref pulled Brock off Frank's helpless ass, giving Mir the chance to catch a nood in a leg submission.

Neither of those things seemed to help Mir much in this fight tho. That beating gave new meaning to 'one sided'.

Mir lost, he fought well but was beaten buy a better fighter. I have no problem admiting Brock is an awesome fighter due to his combination of wrestling & power and he has developed a hell of a lot since he lost to Mir last time.

But saying Mir didn't deserve to be in there is crap. He is a great fighter and had earned the chance to see if he could beat Lesner once Lenser was more familiar with MMA.

The fact Mir was getting beat down in parts of their 1st fight was something he admitted in a pre-fight intervew shown on the countdown. He also pointed out how he was working for a submission (if it would have worked is another matter)

But a stand up for a Div 1 wrestler is not a deal breaker, as he showed when he took Mir down again, he then make a mistake by leaving the submission open in a way that was nothing to do with the ref.

If it was so extremely one sided why did it take into round 2? Mir wasn't running away like Kalib Starnes did fighting Nate Quarry, so surely Lesner should have
KO'd him in the opening minuets of round 1 if Mir was offering no effective opposition.

It went to round 2 because Mir seems capable of taking many shots to the head. By "he fought well" do you mean "he managed to lay under Brock while taking blows and avoided getting so messed up the ref would have to stop the fight" for a round?
