I know that Mir is a former champ. I also know that last time they fought Mir won because the ref pulled Brock off Frank's helpless ass, giving Mir the chance to catch a nood in a leg submission.
Neither of those things seemed to help Mir much in this fight tho. That beating gave new meaning to 'one sided'. -
Why did they never try this....

Mir lost, he fought well but was beaten buy a better fighter. I have no problem admiting Brock is an awesome fighter due to his combination of wrestling & power and he has developed a hell of a lot since he lost to Mir last time.
But saying Mir didn't deserve to be in there is crap. He is a great fighter and had earned the chance to see if he could beat Lesner once Lenser was more familiar with MMA.
The fact Mir was getting beat down in parts of their 1st fight was something he admitted in a pre-fight intervew shown on the countdown. He also pointed out how he was working for a submission (if it would have worked is another matter)
But a stand up for a Div 1 wrestler is not a deal breaker, as he showed when he took Mir down again, he then make a mistake by leaving the submission open in a way that was nothing to do with the ref.
If it was so extremely one sided why did it take into round 2? Mir wasn't running away like Kalib Starnes did fighting Nate Quarry, so surely Lesner should have
KO'd him in the opening minuets of round 1 if Mir was offering no effective opposition."This won't hurt me a bit..." - My training partner.:new_astha -
