A little Wu-style taijiquan. The entrance for the Wu variation of White Crane Speads Wings (an application familiar to any judoka):

    ... it continues like this:

This is the same throw Kano teaches here:

    YouTube - Jigoro kano-

Not a competition clip, but some nice techniques. Tony Chan teaching in Hong Kong, nice counter throws in this one:

YouTube - Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan Applications

These are the gems mined from an absolute clusterfuck of a thread on a board called "Rum Soaked Fist."

Between the fantasists who lust for qi magic and BJJihadi who can't believe that there are any effective CMA, I sometimes get frustrated with this forum, but now that I've read some of the CMA-related sites... well, I have a new appreciation for this community.

Another training/demo clip, this time for Repulse Monkey applied as an osotogari and a kick catch:

Nice footsweep at a shuaijiao tournament:

YouTube - Awesome Shuai Chiao Kick Throw

Demonstration of phoenix-eagle throw as an application of taiji's Diagonal Flying:

MMA instructor at Taiwan's Evolution Combat (the usual MMA blend plus some CMA) teaching the same taiji throw in an MMA context:

YouTube - Martial Arts Odyssey: Evolution COMBAT ROC (Part 2)

Some young Texan taiji noobs doing a bit of wrestling practice:

YouTube - tai chi class match 1
(this channel has many of these little in-class sparring sessions, plus some somewhat concerning newaza)

    Jiaozuo Taiji Championship China 2009:

(Taiji honeys!?! Sweet toss at 0:15, another at 0:55.)

Same Russian group that made the above video competing in a smaller regional event:

YouTube - Соревнования по тайцзи туйшоу в Орле - апрель 2008
(~0:16 and ~0:22 for a pair of *classic* Chen moves.)

And some interesting soft play from the same group:

YouTube - Alchemy of Tuishou / Алхимия Туйшоу
    (Quite a beard.)

A Hunyuan (Chen offshoot) taiji player doing some push hands with what the comments suggest is a Kali instructor at a seminar in 2006:

YouTube- Hunyuan Taijiquan Santuishou and Sanda

It's an odd and low intensity sparring format, but I like that it shows a number of classic takedowns quite clearly.

Thanks for that. Looks like that guy put up a bunch of FZQ vids just over the past week. I'm not into labeling his flavor of Chen its own style, but it was neat. I fwded the channel to my current teacher, who is in the line. (FZQ>Gene Chen>him).
