America was founded upon the concepts of individual responsiblity and man controlling his own destiny.

It's when these "progressive" thinkers started to imply that we were all responsible for taking care of the stupid, inept, and IRRESPONSIBLE, that the country started going to crap.

Damn, I'm getting more involved in the politics around here. I need to stop. :(

You can eat healthy at KFC pretty easily. Just take the skin off the chicken, and order green beans/corn/etc.

Of course, I'm also a sucker for Honey BBQ Wings.

There's generally two issues being muddled in these debates.

One is what defines "healthy" in regards to food. The other is what bearing that has on obesity and the health implications of the obesity (not the food).

One gets obese from calories. There are health consquences of the obesity not neccesarily having anything to do with the source of the calories.

One can eat McDonalds, NOT get obese, yet suffer the consquences of hydrogenated oils, vitamin/mineral deficiencies and apocryphal ingredients.

The obesity argument is stupid. Not even worth elaborating on. I know plenty of fat vegetarians.

As far as food quality, that's another matter. Whole wheat buns, decent meat, real cheese, actual milk shakes, non-rancid oils....that's good eating. This is what McDonalds, however, lacks entirely.

Eating junk is an individual decision, but food design influences how much you eat. Burgers are designed to maximize amount, works subconsciously. There may be an analogy to addiction-increasing additives in cigarettes.
