A really nice way to get rid of that smell that i learned is to buy a really cheap bag of cedar chips from Pet Smart or somewhere similar (its extremely cheap, you get a big bag, and some extra odor control cause its meant for pets), put some in a sock, then put that sock in your glove.
If it doesn't completely remove the small it will at least get it to the point where it is barely there. -

Theoretically, any desicant or absorbant should work, I think rice would probably be the cheapest/most available.
Also:
