My new gun safe...1,800 rounds of .45 ACP just isn't enough
Well, I recently got a gun safe to safely hold my firearms and ammunition.
I counted and realized that from my strenuous efforts at collecting ammunition that I've got 1,800 rounds of .45 ACP from assorted manufacturers, of a couple of different grains, and different types including basic FMJ and lead-free.
However, since I was going to let my mom use one of my .45s to participate in steel shooting events, and since she would need to practice, I feel like even 1,800 rounds is just not enough for the both of us. I wonder when the current ammo shortage will be over.

This is an article in the economist from a few weeks ago.
Basically, gun sales have increased dramatically since Obama got in, in fear that he will get out his ban hammer.
And so demand has out stripped supply leading to shortages.
Hope you find it interesting.
EDIT: A lot of the comments are good. Sort by recommendation for the interesting discussion.

This isn't a thread meant for ammo shortage whining, its a thread meant to allow us a look into a fresh safe with some goodies inside! Its nice, but doesn't all that extra space with no other weapons to fill it just drive you nuts?"Intelligence is nothing more than discussing things with others. Ronin you need a reloading press. That amount of ammo is a lot of jing and you could save yourself a lot of money.
