So they've started up a few 'breakaway' organisations with no visible connection to the BAMA, as the name is now so tainted. But you can bet Delane's pulling the strings. Here's one:

Check out the sword video. Any iaido guys here care to comment?Last edited by StraightUpMA; 9/21/2011 1:53am at .

This is the first of the seitei, a 'generic' iai kata, notice the focus, the domination of the 'opponent', and the feel of the form, this is iai, before you even worry about the specifics of the techniques themselves.
As for the technique, lots wrong, and I am far far far from an expert. -

It's been a while since I've done sword work, but that **** didn't look like anything I've ever been taught.
If you watch a legit sword kata, the strikes are done as if they are actual strikes. In that entire video I didn't see what looked like a single actual cut, just lack of control, bad/made up attacks and a dude focused on trying to cut all his fingers off.
For an example of my experience, I did several years of Shinkendo:
Notice the sword kata stuff, the students seem to be a range of beginner to advanced, but they all have better technique than that video. Observe particularly their dome (the abrupt end of a cut) and nagashi (transition from cut to cut). -
