Me Punching
the only reason why i've responded to the posts is because no one has actually responded with real advice...yes give me advice but dont just say thigns like " Bob has better body movement than you" That doesnt mean anything! Isn't the number 2 "rule" here that you have to respond with something that is well thought out? So, i will be more than happy to put into practice any ACTUAL advice anyone offers.

you seem to be oblivious to the fact people are telling you how to punch BOB as a whole, incorporating more than just how you swing your fists
that is the advice been given, it doesn't matter how well you superman powa punch da bob, every1 here will pick up on everything else that is wrong with what your doing first. -

Did you ask for advice? Did you ask for critique? Or did you just post a video, with no comment?
Clue... it was option three.
Here's a critique, followed by some advice. And I've thought it out.
1] No point posting anything with that camera. The only thing that wasn't blurred was your body, and that was because it wasn't moving. Some fighters have the chin to stand still. I don't think you're that guy.
2] You're arm punching. You say you're doing the krotty hip thing, but it has to come from your feet initially. Take boxing to learn how to punch. Or kick-boxing with a coach who has boxing experience.
3] Your karate teacher is teaching you karate. Even if he has been a Golden Gloves champion, he's still restricted by having to teach you krotty in stances, kata bunkai and all that other traditional stuff. Widen your horizons. There's nothing wrong with starting off with karate when you're still a beginner, so it's not like you've wasted a year or anything, you just have to be open to other things.
I started with karate. After a few years, I got tournament-mauled by someone who could throw a good hook, so I took boxing and it unlocked so much, answered so many questions. I still got owned regularly, but at least I couldn't blame it onthe boogielack of understanding of angles/footwork.
youtube this guy and listen to what he says:
YouTube - Boxing stance and footwork -- basic tips
one of the members here doing some padwork... body movement
YouTube - Ashly padwork
Did you skip number 1?Isn't the number 2 "rule" here that you have to respond with something that is well thought out? So, i will be more than happy to put into practice any ACTUAL advice anyone offers.
Did you skip the part about introducing yourself in newbietown?Last edited by sochin101; 6/30/2009 3:12am at . Reason: added video
Where there is only a choice between cowardice and violence, I would advise violence.
