You just don't get it. MMA is still more brutal because the POINT of the sport is to beat your opponent to death. Now I haven't actually seen an MMA fight, but I know by its description that it's definitely human cockfighting; they strap razorblades to their ankles and maul eachother until a knockout, submission, or death occurs.
Besides, cheerleading isn't really a sport anyway... -

Glad I got my kids into ma young and also gave them some ideas of what kind of life choices they could make - when my daughter was a preschooler we'd sit and eat fresh whole wheat bread with raspberry jam at the U and I'd have her point out the girls that looked like Barbie Dolls.
And remember the real danger of cheerleading...

But things could be worseLast edited by patfromlogan; 6/27/2009 10:05am at .

Most dangerous female sport.
The NYT has a good article on it called Pompoms, Pyramids and Peril:
The more athletic, more acrobatic era of cheerleading is widely linked to the 1980s, when hundreds of high school gymnastics teams were dropped, partly because school districts grew weary of paying off injury insurance claims for the sport. Many gifted female gymnasts gravitated toward cheerleading and, with their ability and competitive nature, they soon pushed halftime routines far beyond shaking pompoms and waving banners. -
