The bar has officially been set for BJJ and Judo in Houston.

I've trained with Anderson before, and it's a frightening experience. He has no holes in his game. He destroys people standing up or on the ground.

I remember training with him back in 2006, after he just won US Judo Nationals (smashed through Judo Nationals is more likely). He came into the gym like he was just some other guy, and then everyone got real quiet. There were some people there who didn't know who he was, and someone commented on his Judo Gi. He just said "Yes, I do a bit of Judo", and gave the guy some tips.

Here's his bio for those who don't know him:

Make sure to take a look at "some" of his competition results. It will take about an hour.

When Anderson told me he was opening a school, I yelled at him over the phone, something to the effect of "Why didn't you do this 6 years ago when I was still in Houston?". He then said he was going to humbly return to the mat, and do what he always wanted to do: teach. And that's the type of person he is. I've never seen a more humble yet legit bad-ass in my entire life - I say that, because I've yet to meet Fedor :).

I may go to Houston a week early prior to ADCC Texas Championships just to see his new school. If you have a chance to train with Anderson, don't pass it up.

    Cheers,

    Nick
