Cody "Coda" Scott is running for city council, Stillwater, OK
Cody "Coda" Scott, master of True Power Martial Arts Academy, is running for City Councilman Seat IV in Stillwater, OK.
Close friends back in Stillwater recently brought this news to my attention and sent me a series of links:
Stillwater Online Forum's thread "ASK: Cody Scott 2011"
The Stillwater Watchdog's announcement of the mayor's endorsement of Cody's candidacy.
His campaign Facebook page.
Cody's past appears to have gone largely unmentioned, one would assume this is simply because he's going by Cody rather than Coda. Though it looks like someone, somewhere has brought it up, judging from the garbled discussion at the Stillwater Watchdog site where it seems Scott is the favored candidate.
Cody is the only challenger to the incumbent Darrel Dougherty, which may present us with a problem. Unfortunately, today, March 1, is the day of the primary, and according to the Stillwater charter:

There were only a hand full of situations where I thought I'd be voting for Darrel Dougherty, I can't believe that one of them actually happened.

STILLWATER, Okla. — In Tuesday's Stillwater City Council Seat 4 Primary:
With 23 of 23 precincts reporting, in unofficial returns:
Cody Scott 1,548
Incumbent Darrell Dougherty 1,330
Bob Cawlfield 61
One candidate drawing more than 50 percent of the vote eliminates the need for a general election in this race in April. Seat 3 will be on the April general election ballot.

I'm predicting that he'll invoke Jesus when his competence is questioned.

Oh wow that is both sad and funny at the same time.
Our of curiosity, did his opponent happen to bring up the Coda Scott Investigation?
