Thanks a lot, everyone really helped pull this together for me. It meant a lot.
The wings were USMC, my dad started out as a jarhead and eventually ended up in the airforce.

You're dad was pretty damn awesome, judging by those ribbons,
What did he do in the Marine Corps, that sent him to Jump School?
PROOF that I'm not a completely useless poster:

The story has always been a bit jumbled for me but I think he enlisted in the marines first, around 17 (graduated highschool early), and then I think went into the Air Force, then the Army and then spent the rest of his career in the Air Force. I know he spent a lot of time in purple suit outfits, the UN and at the pentagon. He also was attached to operation blue book for its shut down. He told a story about designing with a colleague one of the SERE camps for the air force too.
He never really talked a lot about any of it but he I do know he and my mom honeymooned in the middle east (he spoke 6-7 languages including farsi) and we have a giant dagger from SA's intelligence department and some other random artifacts. I recall some weird stories about making Chop Suey (he also spoke Mandarin) and not being able to find water chestnuts in Beruit.
I've always wondered how much was bullshit or just him trying to hint things to **** with me but most of what he implied has support and my brother (who is an officer) has gotten some of his records and seems to think my dad wasn't lying. I also know, because it freaked my mom out, that up until about 1990 he couldn't be put under general anesthesia without a military representative in the room. My brother said there were about 10 more ribbons and a few more badges that he couldn't find, were too expensive or that he didn't find complete documentation of.
