RELAX!
You could fix most of your problems just by taking the stiffness out of your leg. Pretend your kicking leg is horribly injured and all you can do is swing its dead weight at the target. Then when that starts to seem normal add a little tiny bit of tension back when your foot leaves the floor. Basically you want a twitch that starts your movement followed by a huge dead weight smashing through your target. -
