He does not deserve a title shot. Let him fight Al-Turk first. :ingun:

I guess people are cautious when making predictions, remember Lesnar-Couture?

And that is the other reason people are pulling for Mir, beating Randy made Lesnar less popular, not more.

However, in this thread nearly 100% of people pick Lesnar over Mir (many saying that they want Mir to win but "realistically" it will be Lesnar).

What changed? Was it just initial outcry that he jumped ahead many other good fighters for the title match?

That doesn't mean he has no shot at winning.
Lesnar is huge and strong, and he is a legitimate athlete and wrestler. But I am always going to root against him because he was granted special privileges due to his past career as a performance artist. I understand that the UFC pushed him ahead because he is a big draw, and Zuffa is in this to make money, but a sport needs some level of integrity. Fighters need to know that they will not be skipped over when some famous person decides he wants to try MMA.

There are probably many fighters who were capable of winning a UFC title in their fourth pro match, depending on who the champion was at that time and how they matched up. But in general, fighters don't get that kind opportunity if they've never beaten Big Show or Masa Chono.

Brock Lesnar Vs. Frank Mir - nobody can stop the Cocksword

    Georges St-Pierre
Vs. Thiago Alves - this will be tricky for GSP, Alvesis a really dangerous opponent and i would'nt be suprised to see an upset. Although saying that i still expect GSP to win.

Dan Henderson Vs. Michael Bisping he's annoying but i think he'll slap punch his way to another win. Bisping is hard to beat and looks very good at Middleweight.

While I generally agree, BJ Penn was given a LW shot in his 4th or 5th fight. Randy was also given a title shot at HW around half a dozen pro fights.
Thus, what ZUFFA gave Lesnar wasn't wholly without precedent. It is worth noting that both of those fights weren't while the UFC was owned by ZUFFA.

It is interesting to note that Elite XC, as absurd as they were in promoting Kimbo as their main draw also recognized it would have been absurd to try and shoehorn him in as their HW champ.

    Nice card.

But being Canadian a GSP win is my main hope for it.

Bisping? Bisping? What the **** are you guys smoking? Now there's a paper tiger if there ever was one in the UFC. Are you guys fucking trolling here?

Bisping's been protected from tough fights due to his popularity as the face of MMA in Britain. Henderson may be getting older, but at least his fights have been against other top names. Plus, Bisping is a prettyboy who seems to think he deserves everything and more. I see much less of a work ethic from him than from any other fighters, and I don't think he'll deal well with an actual challenge infront of him.

Oh, he beat Leban? And... Hammil (not that that one should count anyway). And Elvis Sinosic? WTF? And you think he'll go from that to beating Henderson? Jesus Crispy Christ, no fucking chance.

You're probably right on most although I'm picking Miller and Belcher.

Also, that was supposed to be Jones winning, not a draw or anything wacky.
