1 - Mr. Morton should be suspended from the USJA for two years. He can apply for reinstatement provided he has shown compliance with the recommendations numbered 2 and 3.

2 - Mr. Morton should hold no official USJA judo rank until so authorized by examination and verification of his judo knowledge. Accommodations should be made should Mr. Morton supply adequate proof of physical disability.

3 - A permanent "flag" be placed on his USJA record to indicate his judo rank should not be validated without being examined by an examiner selected by the Rank Examiners Committee Chair.

4 - To protect other members, notice of Mr. Morton's suspension should be posted on the USJA website, and the USJF and USA Judo should also be notified as to our action.
Awesome and fair IMO. You have two respected Judokas willing yo help you out. Please accept the offers.

I am glad this has ended. I still think I am owed an apology from Mr. Morton for taking advantage of my trust in him as a judo coach, but I have moved on from this. I hope he can do the same.

Thanks again to you all who helped show me the truth.

    Sincerely,

    Ryan.

Thanks to all involved in bringing this person to light.

Since I'm relatively new to this site, what typically happens when someone is rebuked as harshly and publicly as this?

How often do they man up and admit their deception?

Or, do they continue to peddle their snake oil elsewhere under a different name?

Thanks for the update Sensei. Sensei Cohen was a little held up yesterday with one of our judoka getting hurt last night so I wasn't able to get the info about the actions taken against Matt by the USJA. Sensei mentioned that he had been suspended and alluded to the fact that his rank was stripped.

Thanks to all the guys for your hard work on this.

This thread was totally worth the insane amount of time it took to read it all. Well done.

I am very impressed with Sensei Ohlenkamp's and Sensei Tripp's generous offers to assist Matthew. Excellent examples of forgiveness and showing the generous natures of both men.

You are right. But what I said in the other thread: The generosity seems not to work on Morton...really sad.
