BJJ Black Belt?

I am wondering if anyone has any knowledge of this guy or his claims to be a bjj black belt? Says he got his BB from Carlos Machado and his 2nd Degree from Carlos Machado. Im wondering what happened to his 1st degree and he went from BB to 2nd degree in 3 years? I also can't seem to find anything online other than his own site to validate this claim... My Instructor is a Professor Pedro Sauer Black Belt and has never heard of this guy. It just doesn't seem to look right to me although the guy could be completely legit.

Odd. I Googled Mr. Smith and got 1,360 hits for him! Try this search string: http://www.google.com/#hl=en&q=%22jo...fp=q07gBlqSm5s

OTM has him listed. I understand they validate higher BJJ ranks (purple and up) before posting them. Sherdog has a thread where they mention him. Hell, a lot of sites do.
