Hi everyone, noob here. I found this site through a link on a thread over at Kendo-World:

    http://www.kendo-world.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21139

Mr. Sutton paid us a visit over there as well. At first, we thought we smelled a troll, with comments like "taming squirrels with rubber shuriken", but turns out he's real.

The last 12 pages has been some really good reading! Thanks!

My biggest concern is with your form, and I get that you said the videos weren't the best reflection, but much of what I saw were very small habitual things that probably occur each time. This may cause me some bashing here, but I'm not concerned with who you studied under or their lineage. I have studied for many years in Japan, and one thing I learned quickly was that no one care what your "qualifications" are when in battle, but only what it is that you can do. You say you are more about function, however, what your form shows is that it is missing balance - balance of the body, and balance between the sword...and the function of this is simply a quick defeat.
    Just my humble thoughts

Has no one pointed out that Togakure-ryu is the Bujinkan ninja School? This is thinly disguised ninjerism.

We're numbed to the pain, it's implicit, no one can be bothered.
