How does the sparring between Kat and WS go at TDs? They both have nice sweeps.

Very nice. 2nd girl was in way over her head. With smaller gloves, she wouldn't have lasted so long with both hands plastered to her forehead.

They were 10 oz gloves, actually hit a lot harder then 7oz MMA gloves, but I wasn't really trying to open up on the headshots, I wanted to drag it out and try to throw to the body just to get used to doing so more.

Honestly I wish I could have fought some more experienced girls but at this point it's more about the experience of getting into the ring so that I can be progressively more relaxed when I fight and look better and better. Unfortunately as I've gotten more skilled this has involved having to walk over a lot of people that I just outclassed.

I could have successfully gone pro a while ago but I want to embody what I feel a professional fighter SHOULD be, rather then what a "professional fighter" usually actually is. A trumped up amateur with a "pro" liscense and a couple hundred bucks every fight to show for making a mockery of serious athletes.

Kat and WS have only sparred a very little bit standing up. There was a video of them at the last throwdown but it was really sucky and jittery.

I've now started trying to work on Kat's sweeps with people in sparring, but I'm still a little shy about really trying to take people off their feet with them since I don't want people to hate sparring with me. People get very frustrated getting knocked on their asses like that. Lucky for me, since I've sparred with Kat so many times and that's her signature move, I've gotten really good at not getting taken down by that sweep :)

WS's sweeps still messed me up though since he throws them totally different from how Kat throws hers.

As an aside I expect to see big improvements in my boxing in the near future. In addition to the boxing coach whom I've only been seriously working with for a few months I recently picked up a sparring partner, a pro female boxer who I believe is about 170 pounds and when we "spar" ego's basically turn it into an all out war, we just go at fight level for the entirety of the sparring. She edges me out on conditioning around the third round and starts landing shots that really ring my bell but for the first round I am just way to fast for her to really land on and she's generally bleeding from her mouth and nose by the end of it.

I've only sparred with her twice now but it's pretty apparent that after about 2 more months working like I do that she wont be able to stand with me even though she's a lot bigger and we're playing a game that she's pro in and I only recently started pursuing seriously.

Expect to make big leaps in skill in near future, not sure what I'll do with them yet. Boxing coach obviously wants me to pursue trying to win world titles in boxing so we're discussing turning pro around September or October.

Want to pursue MMA for own edification, if I had a badass wrestling coach to train with 2 hours a day like I have a badass boxing coach to train with I'd love that. Wish I had more time to train.

    Wow, such a mauler.

Your defense seemd a little bit lax on the second fight, but considering your opponent wasn't throwing anything at you, it is no big deal.

    Nice body pummeling, BTW.
