There is a practice of blow taking. We did it and it helps. All that has been said on this account on this thread is true: You displace the sac for the groin kick, you do keep flexed neck and air in the pipe for throat shots. For ribs a lot of country boys have a little fat on the frame which does not hurt... fat is a great sbsorber... and those leg kicks? they hurt but you can take em with practice.

Much to the chagrine of many here I always preface my words of wisdom with my own experience and I will do so here as well:

back in my wild and whooly days I was training a biker president who moves to New Mexico and got hooked up with a guy who was a thai fighter and dog brothers member... so this guy could fight. We fought a bit and he kept catching my leg with that round kick... I had practiced taking those shots and it hurt. It did not stop me though because if you get used to those shots you can withstand em... so there you go persanol testimony to the effect for wht it is worth

Dave Crosby, I forget his ____dog title. Last I checked they had him still listed as retired, but its been a few years. The kick boxer who knew my friend? I don't remember his name but he had a school in Albaquerke... damn atmosphere altitude felt like I was running a mile while fighting. It was a friendly match we fought a bit and I fought with my friend.
