Saying you're a black belt in BJJ is still lying about something pretty prestigious. Smack talk or not, had he said, "I play for (insert some famous football team here)", I'm pretty sure people would be calling him out on his bullshit. Why should it be any different with martial arts?

Because he gets paid by drumming up publicity for himself and his worthless wife. You can't take anything he does or says seriously. He is the kind of guy to use negative press to his advantage. Calling him out is giving him what he wants and playing into his strategy.

I agree with kenpostudent. Spencer is a pathetic douchebag, and I think that even most regular people can tell that he's full of crap' Although, the first person to prick this prick would be a good candidate for Badass of the Month. Especially if the potential BOTM is a real BJJ black belt.
