"i use to spot a guy that could bench over 400 and i cant bench 200 so you are full of **** about your friends not being able to spot for you"

Kismasher, before we go declaring bullshido and fraud everywhere....
You have to consider the possibility that none of his friends have spotted him yet.

Is.....there a question or a point to this thread?
If it's just ranting then I'm fine with that....

Also, at 16 you should NOTbe doing HEAVY weight training yet.
You can use a "spot rack", spot up rights, a power rack, etc.
Now why oh why would you say you shouldn't be lifting heavy at 16?

At 16 your body is going though alot, to add HEAVY weight training CAN cause skeletal problems IF there is any kind of sloppiness in your form.

oh. Oh my god. The question was what should I do BTW, I just didn't state it. And no, none of my friends have spotted me. They think spotting is gay and I just doubt their ability to do so.

At any age you can cause skeletal problems with training if there's something wrong with your form.

The whole stunt your growth thing is highly over rated. Growth can be stunted when damage occurs to the epiphysial or growth plates that are at the end of long bones, it was thought for a time that weight training could do this. However, it' been shown that it's not weight training that does this but high impact sports such as gymnastics and martial arts. Now I'm not saying martial arts will stunt your growth, I'm just saying they're much more likely to than heavy weight training.

If on the other hand you're referring to possible damage to tendonous attachments it's really a non issue because at that age the motor unit recruitment is insufficient to allow the muscles to generate the necesarry force to pull away from the bone. Besides, at 16 the rapidly occuring structural changes would work hard to prevent this from happening in the future.
