BJJ might make you a better ground fighter, but Judo will make you a better dancer.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris -

I don't know, but this was a couple years ago and he was fighting in the 2-5 years (intermediate) division...

I thought he'd tire out, but he just kept squeezing harder and it was bothering me, so I said **** it and armbarred him.
I even pleaded with the ref to stop the match, but she told me she couldn't because he's an adult and he has to tap. then I was going to switch to a triangle, but the second I loosened up he tried to escape; that's when I lost my sympathy for him.
that being said he was a nice guy. all smiles after the match, even shook my hand with his other arm, and when I apologized he said something like "don't worry, it happens" then ran over to the medics. his arm was badly damaged though.Last edited by M-Tri; 12/26/2008 9:33am at .
FACT- Eddie Bravo invented the triangle choke when he used it to tap out helio gracie at an ac/dc concert.

Total class Mikey T! Man, you could clearly see you looking to the ref and asking 'man this guy's done and too stupid to tap'. I think you gave him about 10-15 seconds and he just kept fighting it.
Er wait, just read SuperGuido's, yeah exactly that, er ditto.
Heh, your corner cracked me up. -
