    M.C. Competition footage

Well I had nothing else to do so I went to the Brazilian Championships last Friday.
First round I got a free pass.
Second round I won by armbar 3 minutes in (unfortunately no video due to the fact that my friend was busy with organizing and could not tape it).
    Third round... see for yourself

Sometimes you lose and sometimes the other guy wins.

At this point I don't owe anybody an explenation.

Well, which one are you? Are you the one that won? Or the one that got owned?

As KFC pointed out, I am the one who pulls guard. And thanks to youtube my carefully added sound is blocked... **** that ****.

So TKD loses to BJJ - nothing to see here....move along...:)

Great match MC, like the reversals. My neck is stiff just watching you get stacked.

Yeah I guess so...He won the point sparring :pottytrai

Thanks, re watching the match I hate my self for gassing and not bridging/hip escaping even once while he had side control. I let pass to much time before doing anything, I am too comfortable in that position.

    Mundials 2009 SaoPaulo

Well last sunday I tried myself again, at the mundials. This time in the next higher weight class.
My preparation sucked (two week time out because of my ear and a little holiday :lookround) 3 days before coming back is not really smart.

Please wait for a few seconds until the video gets better.
    YouTube - mundials
Here is what I think about my own fight:
    Spoiler:
I was over confident and did not go for guard as I usually do. Guard is where my game is at, I tried top and got billed.

I did not fall for his attempts of the osotograi and dominated the grip fight to the point where he moved of the mat to disengage and jump guard. I should have cross gripped his sleeve before trying to pass, stupid mistake that put me into half guard. He kept pulling me back and I tried to go slow in order to calm myself. The ref thought I was stalling and gave me a penalty (I didn't even hear him/payed attention because I can not think Portuguese when I fight). After that I could not decide if i want his back or the arm, I just dabbled there where I could and should have ended the fight for the first time. When I am in guard I try for a choke, he defends, I try to fake a sit up sweep/kimura and get the triangle, I close it, I can see he is about to tap... the ref calls it.

I have to fight faster and start thinking about points, I take to much time to switch from one attack to the next. And my top game sucks more balls than a porn queen.

Good work MC. You are far more relaxed and methodical in this one. Did you go up a weight class cause you didn't want to cut, or are you putting on mass?
