Female fighter in ICU after brain bleed, read how you can help.

Jessica Bednark collapsed during training and was rushed to the emergency room yesterday with a bleed to her brain. The doctors preformed emergency surgery to remove the pressure on her brain. They had to remove a small area of her skull as well. Jessica remains in a medically induced coma right now. She is in ICU and can not have any visitors until Tuesday or Wednesday.
Jessica is a professional female fighter, with a record of 5-2-0 at 135lbs. She was scheduled to fight June 12th against AJ Jenkins and was training when this happened.
I was informed by her camp that she does NOT have medical insurance and depended on her job for her training and bills. We need to come together right now and help Jessica. Her family was extremely grateful that we have posted bulletins, but now as a fighter community, we need to extend a helping hand. Hit your sponsors as well…….

Sad, no insurance like many fighters......this could of happened to any of us who fight or train, if you can afford to do anything to help then I encourage you to do so.

Bullies-

I called St. Cloud Hospital to confirm that Jessica Bednark had been admitted. She is indeed in the ICU, confirmed by her attending nurse. The nurse gave me contact info for Jessica's father.

After I expressed my condolences and informed him I was contacting on behalf of Bullshido, he confirmed that Derek Gould is Jessica's boyfriend and that it's fine to send donations and cards to him at that address.

Look I know Bullshido is known for cracking cases, but come on....help or don't this isn't some elaborate scam to get a few spare bucks from you. I was sent this by a friend who fights and thought I would pass it along to Bullshidos, that is all.

I see people w/out insurance run over by the system very frequently for my job. Just some practical advice; if you tell the hospital you don't have insurance they will usually give you a break of some kind. Hospitals typically inflate their sticker prices because they expect to basically get negotiated down by insurance. It's not unusual for a serious hospital stay to have a "sticker price" of $100,000 dollars or so.

Gawd forbid we not just take the word of someone asking us for money, because, y'know, strangers asking for money are always on the up-and-up.
