I think it was T-nation article if memory serves. Another big critique was the high-rep-olympic-lift scheme which if one does oly lifts with any semblance of weight would be stupidly injurious.

The oly lifts done for high reps are not meant to be done with high weight, so it's not really dumb then is it. It's just a full body movement so it is good for GPP and cardio.

-I never really understand this type of objection. Some proponents of Crossfit are obnoxious fanboys so you won't do their very effective workouts? That makes no sense...

yeah everything has fanboys. well, except maybe machine weights, dont see many guys ratting on about how awesome it is just using pec decs and row machines.

One of the guys i train with went over to Aus with the guys who started up crossfit for a 2 week course, we went through the stuff with him when he got back- it was good, fucking hard, but i found some of the stuff was too hard on my shoulder (old cuff injury) like the pull ups.

    Arthur Jones.

RE: The olympic lifts, even at a light weight, it's still dangerous to do them for the high reps, as you are still trying to perform an explosive movement in a fatigued state.

I like some of the crossfit workouts, but the high reps on olympic lifts, the lack of periodization or programming contained in the WODs, plus the attitude of some of the community surrounding them makes me want to stay far away.
