    Si Lum Fighter:

It is Fake, Codos de Piedra, Ming Loyalist, Tom Kagan, others ITT and I all do Kung Fu.

    Understand?

YOUR kung fu claims are being critisized by OTHER KUNG FU PRACTITIONERS.

You cannot scapegoat MMA on this one.

actually gonna stick my neck out here.

If someone is trying to grapple you=hitting them works...

If someone is succeeding in grappeling you, you have no control of your limbs=hitting them is an all out fail.

I used to do striking arts (still do) and thought i could punch out of grapples. This failed when i sparred with a black belt at judo, i have also sparred and lost to several strikers.

A good FIGHTER controls distance to his favoured range, making his opponent fight at his range. This is what MMA'ers train in. Not all MMA'ers are grapplers, indeed Cung Le, Machida, GSP and so on all have striking backgrounds, mostly from traditional arts. All however, cross trained to find out what their opponents would do.

The OP's first mistake was presuming everyone was an MMA'er. The second was Presuming all MMA is grappeling. I'm don't do MMA. A gym i want to save up and train in advises do a couple of years in a striking art then a couple of years in a grappling art, then do a couple of years BJJ. Then learn ring-craft (well, octagon craft) conditioning and fight strategy with them. That's from Wolfslair, and when I'm halfway decent I'll go to train their as an occasional treat to myself.

Oh and the attitude from the start was negative. Bullshido is all about proof, it says so when you join, outlandish statements get shot doen, as I've learned to my chargrin

    You aren't saying anything controversial.

I doubt you'll find any disagreement except, some nitpicking and such.

The issue was with this part for me:
Here is an example of how kung fu can and will work against a grappler. From a standing position you get into it with a grappler. The grappler ties you up in a collar to elbow tie up like you see in wrestling. From this point you have one hand on or around the grapplers neck. It is very easy to strike the throat or eyes with an open hand strike using the finger tips or leopard paw to the throat from here because of how close the hand is already to the target.
This is my issue. That's is it. Nothing was said about his teachers, styles, or experience. It was the silliness of this specific scenario.

Oh and his "it will work on the ground" silliness.
