"The Umbrella: A Misunderstood Weapon"

There's a simple modification for hollow carbon fiber shaft umbrellas that has been floating around the WMA community for a while; cut off the tip, slide in a solid carbon fiber rod and re-seal the tip, for an "unbreakable umbrella" at a fraction of the $$. You have to be judicious about choosing an umbrella with the right kind of spring/opening mechanism, though.

I found this post after I took a look at the unbreakable umbrella. $180+ is a lot to be paying for an umbrella. Then I came across this thread. Do you know of any youtube videos or of other sites that go into more detail about doing the modification that you mentioned?
