Why is this funny? Because the guy spouting all the hate is the butt of the joke. Same reason Archie Bunker was funny.

I like this derail, I'll try to generalize a bit:

The only parameter for "what's funny" is what makes you laugh. If a racist joke makes you laugh and you find it a satisfying laugh, you're a racist. If you find jokes about other people's sufferings funny from the viewpoint of the executioner, you show a fascist attitude. Humour shows what you really are.

That's why I love South Park and despise Family Guy.
