How are those CD's that someone can buy in a foreign currency of choice? Is it worth it? Apparently there is a bit of currency trading in Florida as this bank and a few others that sell this product are in Florida.

I like the idea fundamentally (meaning it sounds good) but I don't know anyone who ever bought one. You buy in the currency and everything stays in the currency until you cash it in. I was thinking of a 3 year Australian or maybe the equivalent of an index fund for the Asian currencies. And... if those were looking ok maybe waiting for the Northern European dolar to hit a low and on a lark buying some ane waiting for a comeback.

Most of my trading is stocks currency is too voilatile for my tastes.

Currency isn't for everybody. Its is VERY volatile. Especially in the spot market where you are heavily leveraged. You can make oodles of money or be totally blown out.

If its a straight exchange, with no leverage, you will get a few cents on the dollar. but like any instrument you have to be savvy enough to be on the right side of the trade.

the problem with foreign CDs is that any gains can be wiped out by sudden declines in that currency. US CD are much less risky. for example, if you would have bought a British CD while the Pound was at 2.04 in aug 08 you would have tanked into negative territory when the collapse came and hit 1.27 b y Jan 09. Now its at 1.62-66 range.

The whole point of my comment was you played directly into an insult Sirc used against you.

Personally, I don't care about your weight.

Do you need my measurements too?
