There's generally a small, eclectic supply of spare weapons and body protection, but I wouldn't rely on loaners as far as the tournaments go. IIRC the knife tourneys generally require fencing masks, gloves and aluminum or wooden knife trainers.

I would absolutely love to do a knife fighting tournament.
I, however, have none of those things. I have some training knives, but they are of rubber.

This year, there will be a Rapier Tournament, Longsword Tournament (or Freeplay, I don't recall which), and a knife tournament. The rules for the knife tournament are in flux due to some, ah... "irregularities" with scoring and "the honor system" of acknowledging hits last year. I think it will turn out OK though.
Last year the required EQ was a fencing mask, fencing jacket (or similar), and a Cup. Cold Steel or Sharkie style Rubber trainers were provided.
There will also be Officially Recognized Broadsword League matches one evening (possibly two). These are typically expressed as Singlestick with flexible rules, though the Broadsword League has provisions for various sword trainers.
I will DEFINITELY be issuing Challenges in the Broadsword League and Tom Badillo has been trying to convince me to participate in the Knife tourney again.
Peace favor your sword,

The savings are absolutely huge if you pre-register but I am going to have to say you missed the deadline by an eon or so. -

When we held the event in Lansing, the public was always invited to the tournies but it seems different at this hotel. You can always write the organizer and ask: jxnbard@gmail.com
