That would be the upcoming International Swordfighting and Martial Arts Conference - http://artofcombat.org/public/thespi...n/aocflyer.htm (N.B. that the site is currently down due to updates).
ISMAC is one of the oldest and largest WMA conferences and consists of an action-packed four days of seminar training from top instructors in a huge range of styles and specialties. The '09 conference is being held at the Detroit Airport Westin Hotel between May 21-25.Check out the Bullshido.net Western Martial Arts Forum for all things Western, martial and arty.

Ballin? You young people and your young people's slang ...
Note that ISMAC is set up as a formal conference/seminar event, though; I don't think you can just turn up, you need to enroll, etc. Most people stay on-site (it's a very nice hotel) but if you're local you could presumably save some $$$ by just paying for classes rather than tuition + accommodation.Check out the Bullshido.net Western Martial Arts Forum for all things Western, martial and arty.

Oh i'm sorry.
How do i go about signing up, then?
I was just going to go to meet you, and such. It might be easier just to get you and Ken, (I'm presuming ken is going to come, too) and go out to dinner or something. Maybe if you have the time, you could stop by Detroit Jits?

Maybe - between classes, evening lectures and tournaments there isn't typically a whole lot of free time. Hopefully the ISMAC site will be back up soon.

I can't recall what they're offering this year. Over the last couple of years they've had formal competitions in rapier fencing, knife fighting and (IIRC) longsword fencing; maybe some singlestick/military sabre as well. There are also less formal sparring sessions in the evenings.
AFAIK you can sign up anytime; again, here's hoping the site is back up and running soon.Check out the Bullshido.net Western Martial Arts Forum for all things Western, martial and arty.
