    Russian Judo and Combat Judo Clinic - 6/20-21/09

    Russian Judo Clinic June 20-21 2009

    This clinic will be focused on DEFENSE!

    The basic rule is for you to get one hand on and move, then get the other hand on and attack. The second rule is, if your opponent gets one hand on, you attack, NOW. The question is, how do you attack?

    Coach Tripp is going to answer that question!

    Saturday 6/20/09

    Hour One:
    1. Warm-up Review and Questions
    2. Russian Judo Throws:
    a. O Soto Gari (the one Yamashita taught me)
    b. Uchi Mata-Tai Otoshi
    3. Defensive Attacks:
    a. Attacking off of your opponents Sleeve Grip
    b. Attacking off of your opponents Lapel Grip

    Hour Two:
    1. Houdini on the Mat: Escapes
    a. Kesa Gatame
    b. Yoko Shiho Gatame
    c. Mount Escapes
    d. Guard Passing
    e. Juji Gatame

    Hour Three:
    1. American Combat Judo The REAL thing
    2. Atemi-Waza
    a. Elbows and Knees
    b. Chin Jab
    c. Up and Over Chin Jab
    d. Ax hand/Forearm Blow
    e. Cross kick to step Back
    f. Slapping
    3. Basic Front Assault Defense
    4. Basic Rear Assault Defense

    Sunday 6/21/09 Judo for MMA

    Hour One:
    1. Warm-up, Review and Questions
    2. Control Positions
    3. Striking to Control Positions

    Hour Two:
    1. Throwing in MMA
    a. Seoi Nage
    b. O soto Gari
    c. O goshi
    d. Skuki Nage
    e. Te Guruma

    Hour Three:
    1. Throwing to position
    2. Throwing to submission
    3. Armlocks for MMA
    4. Leglocks for MMA

    We are back at the Findlay YMCA again.

    UPDATE:

    Clinic will be from 11:45AM to 2:45PM on Saturday The YMCA closes at 3PM on Saturdays starting June 7th for Summer

    Clinic will be from 1:00PM to 4:00PM on Sunday

    Might have to work around the cycling class on Sunday but, I have a feeling the cycling class will be cancel.

    How are the DVDs going? And would this seminar have the possibility of being filmed and sold on DVD as well? I'm extremely interested in the subject covered but it's a bit far for me to attend.

    The problem with filming the clinic is that it needs a pro. Prior attempts using tripod or student filming have been less than a quality I would feel good about selling.

    Same for the existing video I do have.

    Thank you, sir. I'll do what I can to attend one of your future seminars. Summer is a bad time with me but if something comes up in the fall or winter I'll try to make it happen.
