Please do. It's almost a rite of passage and I don't have one myself yet so it'll encourage me to stop spending money on coffee instead of awesomeness.

If you find one in good shape they're a blast.

This is mine though it lives at my parents house (they have a decent rifle safe). My dad thinks anything not .303 is blasphemy though.

It's got Finnish stamps on it so it was probably captured by the Finns in the winter war.

Finland actually produced a good number of 91/30s during the Continuation War. They used a few captured parts, but they're Finnish built

Got no pics of my dad's Mosin, but it's definitely fun to shoot.

ooo lookit me I'm a bigfag with my photo composition and my focal points and my grid blanket of varying colors and textures and my carefully accidental arrangement of bullets

I'm being totally serious here it's a nice picture

I don't know why everything I say sounds mean I think it's just habit.

OK, we learned a lesson: No matter how tough a rifle is, if you dig it out of a field in bulgaria or something, shoot it on a bench the first time, and pull the trigger with a long stick.

Fortunealty everyone we were shooting with was smart enough to keep the fucker pointed generally down range and away from limbs and skulls at all times, or this might be a much more serious post - PF's mosin has a slightly stick bolt, and mine, holy ****, mine has about a 1 in 10 chance of firing when you cycle the bolt.

Our theory is strip it and re-gap the firing pin in the process.

    Thoughts?

Found a guy who had a similar problem. The most likely culprit is actually the trigger assembly, which makes sense since every time there was an AD the bolt had been decocked. If it was just narrow headspace, the pin wouldn't have dropped. Let's take a peek at your sear, spring, and trigger before anything else.
