The 3rd Annual Shingitai Jujitsu Convention and Training Camp will feature 2 World-Class coaches, Steve Scott and John Saylor, as well as several other top Shingitai coaches.
Steve Scott is a 2-time National SOMBO Champion who coached 3 World Champions in that art. He is the author of many outstanding books published by Turtle Press, including the top-selling Vital Leg Locks and The Armlock Encyclopedia. Steve has also served as Coach of the U.S. Junior World and Pan American Judo Teams and has produced too many national and international champions to count. Come learn from one of the best!
Shingitai Director, John Saylor, is a 3-time National Judo Champion, a 2-time Pan American Medalist, and was head coach of the U.S, National Judo Training Squad at the Olympic Training Center from 1983-1990. Saylor is a certified Systema instructor, and this past year earned his certification from Louie Simmon’s world-famous Westside Barbell. The Westside method of training is unsurpassed in developing strength, speed, and explosive power. Saylor is the author of many jujitsu instructional DVD’s and the highly acclaimed book, Strength and Conditioning Secrets of the World’s Greatest Fighters.
Here is a brief overview of what you will learn:
Saturday May 16, 2009
10am to 12 noon: Leg Locks, Neck Cranks, Arm-Locks, and other submissions from all ground positions.
1pm to 3pm: Ground-Fighting for Self-Defense, Essential Striking Techniques and Training Methods with special guest instructor Mickey Scadova. Mickey was a U.S. National Kick-boxing Champion, and was the boxing coach of Craig Weber who defeated world champion Angel Manfredi.
3:30 to 5:30pm: Takedowns and Throws, Cutting-Edge Training Methods: How To Create Champions (Part 1).
Sunday May 17, 2009
9 am to 11 am: Ground-Fighting Sweeps, Submissions, Guard Passes, and winning tactics for contest or Self-Defense. How To Create Champions (Part 2).
12 noon to 2 pm: Joint Breaking for Self-Defense, Review, Questions and Answers.
Who: Steve Scott and John Saylor, along with several guest instructors.
When: May 16 and 17, 2009
Where: Pleasant Valley Ranch. Perrysville, Ohio
Cost: $125 if paid in full by May 1, 2009. ($135 after May 1st). Price includes banquet dinner on Saturday night. No other meals provided. Pleasant Valley Ranch offers bunk style group cabins for $9 per night. Or, we can provide you with a list of local hotels 7 miles from the training site.
