I can't agree with this thread enough, Goldberg is awful, and I knew he must be someone's friend to still be around. He's completely ignorant of the sport, has a good voice but is not particularly eloquent or well-spoken, and he constantly saps from my enjoyment of the fights with his constant idiocy. He doesn't balance Joe out very well either, who isn't perfect but definitely knows his **** and generally does a good job. A lot of fighters have commentated on a fight or two, and they've all done a much better job than Goldy. Frank Mir, Kenny Florian, Randy Couture, even Stephan Bonnar were all so much better than Goldberg.

He leans in all close to Joe because he's drunk, that's what drunks do when they're talking to you (at least my friends).

    Also, Bruce Buffer sucks.

Buffer's not so bad. He's got one job, and he does it fine. Jimmy Lennon Jr, on the other hand, doesn't need to say a million things about each and every fighter, in my opinion.

And yes, Randy should just retire and do commentary. He's good at it and he's unbelievably more knowledgeable and experienced than any other commentators out there.

    Really?

Bas Rutten, Big John Mccarthy, Stephen Quadros, Mauro Ranallo, Pat Miletich, Frank Mir and even Tito Ortiz.

Not saying they are great commentators but they are just as knowledgeable.

A dead cow would make a better commentator than Ortiz. But Goldy ain't real far ahead.

You dont even need half a brain to know that Tito is a boob, but for arguements sake he is somewhat knowledgeable.

Saying that Randy is the only experienced and informative commentator in MMA is retarded.

Ok for the sake of argument, of course he is knowledgeable, but he is not a good pubic speaker and is slightly retarded himself.

I would rather listen to Jenna ruminate on the most recent theories on subatomic quantom physics.

Even with the bungled attempts of all the "big words" and the "you knows", I think we would all rather listen to her as apposed to Goldie.

But Bas and Randy would provide accurate commentary and lend much name cred. to a beleaguered UFC announcer lineup.

I think Miletich would smoke em all.

I'm not saying Randy's the ONLY experienced and knowledgeable commentator, but I think he's definitely ahead of the others. Bas hasn't fought in some time, and the game has changed a bit (not much, but a bit), and Big John, as far as I know, has never actually fought.

Very few people have been competing as long as Randy has, which I think gives him the edge in current MMA knowledge and experience.
