I liked when Bas when doing commentary in Pride. Joe Rogan has improved quite a bit with his commentary, so I give him props for that.
How can someone be a douche yet easy to work with?

Neither Goldberg nor Rogan bother me anymore since I watch the fights with the volume muted.
Goldberg used to annoy the **** out of me though. Then again, so do most commentators whose primary job is to prevent dead air when the expert stops talking.

The coked out fans booing and screaming when they're not booing do a good enough job of drowning out the ambiance of a fight.
Bring back Pride, please, I miss hearing footfalls and pins dropping.

The way I see it is this: Goldberg is absolutely clueless, Rogan at least knows what he's talking about. I can excuse obnoxious chatter, but not when it demonstrates complete lack of knowledge about the sport. And what is Goldberg's excuse? He's been doing this job for a while now.

Goldberg's favourite word: "teep".
I've only seen him miss calling one a few times since I noticed him saying it.Anyone who has the power to make you believe absurdities has the power to make you commit injustices.

because he trains, "muay thai"
I love hearing the excitement in his voice, when he gets something right. He's like a schoolboy on christmas. And he doesn't let you forget he got something right, either.
PROOF that I'm not a completely useless poster:

Pat Miletich is the best mma commentator I've ever heard. Why can't the ufc get their hands on him or someone like him? Hearing him on the strikeforce showtime card made me glad that the ufc 97 commentating was drowned out by the noise in the sport's bar.I'm picturing you drooling onto the keyboard as you type, one eye rotating independent of the other as your hands mash the keys. - Sophist

I doubt Goldberg is quite as dumb as he seems. Remember he is an employee of the promoter, unlike a football or basketball or boxing commentator whose checks are signed by the TV usually. So his job is to push the company line and market the UFC to (probably drunken) fans with little knowledge of MMA. They give him key points to hammer repeatedly and that is what he does.
That said I would much rather commentary be TUF style. Mike up the cornermen and shut the **** up.
