A good article outlining the rise, fall and rise again of Bartitsu, by historian Emelyne Godfrey, is featured in the new edition of "History Today" magazine.

Out of casual interest, are there any reconstructionist Bartitsu classes in the UK? I've not found a sausage on the web.

There are only a couple of guys in the UK who teach Bartitsu, and most of that instruction happens at one-off events (WMA conferences, etc.) rather than on-going training. James Marwood ( http://www.safeism.com/blog/?s=Bartitsu ) is probably the most active instructor.
