Seedle Avenger, I certainly think you would benefit from attending a throwdown. It's not really an opportunity to test yourself for most people who train regularly (that's what comps are for). It's more a social outing for like minded people.

However, if you haven't been exposed to formal training then it's a good opportunity to see what it's about and whether it's for you.

quite true. most of us aren't there to test ourselves, though it's a nice environment for people like seedle to try some things out.

i think that coming along and having a go will teach him more than debating with him on this forum.

I was always guna show up...
I mean, it's exactly what I've been looking for, none of my friends get the appeal fighting has for me.
It'd be nice to meet some people that do get it.
And, y'know, added bonus of getting to try the stuff I've learned.

Lost on points. Really happy I got down to 79kgs. There was no other old guys in my weight but there was an 85kg guy so they put us together. While there's no way they could know in advance, I was bummed to have dieted for nothing.

I think I'll have to stick to the adults in future with the possibilities of a few more competitors.

That guy Sacha who took you out was the same guy that got me in the last no-gi comp. It looked like he popped the elbow of his adversary in the final.

haha **** man id love to come over and break you filthy aussies apart... and then try that swill you call beer after. once my business gets a bit bigger i might just do that, always wanted to visit sydney anyway.

Also, totally subscribing to this thread to see where this goes with seedle. I foresee potentially huge amounts of lolarity. fucking tiny people.

damn that's a shame you ended up fighting an 85kg guy anyway. i'm surprised your division was so small.

i really felt that i could beat sacha, but i was pretty tired after winning the first match. almost had a triangle but my nuts kinda popped out and i let go. very uncomfortable. also missed a lot of opportunities to sweep him cos i was buggered.

i need to work on cardio. he also had a bye before me i believe. at the end of the day, he was just better prepared to go the distance. i've decided that i must become a cardio machine.

i watched that last match too and yeah it looked like the guy was injured.
