I am fuckin totally up for this!
But, y'know, being a noob, I have no idea what to expect..
Could someone elaborate a little on what actually happens at these things?
Is there different sections for ground and stand up, or is it all basically UFC rules?
How long does it go for, what should you bring, that type of ****..?Last edited by Seedle Avenger; 5/12/2009 2:53am at .

as much or as little as you're comfortable with. striking, grappling or both.
we were even talking about bringing training weapons a little while ago.
the point is to learn, and test yourself and your training methods with sparring, and have some fun.
what kind of training have you done?Last edited by danno; 5/12/2009 3:19am at .

Well, as far as ground goes, I've done some jiu jitsu-ish stuff with a big tongan guy at a friends xmass party.. lol..
So, I'm not too great at that.
But I'd like to think I'm ok at stand up.
I'm self taught, from any information I can get my hands on.
Been training it for about 5 years with a bag but the thing is I've never had a partner.. Due to all my friends being pussies..
So, basically, I want to know if anything I've learned will work in a real life senerio.
I mean, if it doesn't, it was 5 wasted years.
And I really love the weapons idea.
Way I see it, noone on the street is guna try and attack you unless they have a distinct advantage..
Or at least think they do. -

wow, very interesting.
i'll tell you right now - training by yourself without a school, without sparring partners and without an instructor is not likely to lead to good results. quite frankly, i'd be shocked and amazed if it ever, ever did.
but i could be wrong. so the throwdown should be enlightening for either you or me!
do you have boxing gloves and a mouth guard? groin protector? shin guards? in the very least, boxing gloves and mouth guard for the stand up.
remember, it should all be pretty safe and no one will try to push you outside your comfort zone, whatever that is.
some questions - how old are you, how big are you, and what styles have you tried to teach yourself?
lastly, i'd suggest that you do a lot more reading around this site, you'll find it very interesting. -

Lol, don't worry, I'm well aware of that.
I wouldn't expect anyone to believe I'm skilled in anything from a bunch of words, either.
You'd be surprised how far will and knowledge can take a person, though.
I'm 21 in july.
I'm not big, bout 6ft5, 63kgs.
Basically, what I've attempted to learn is.. Well, how to defend and counter, against anything, with the least amount of effort and elaboration..
I hate answering that question. No matter how it's worded, I'm guna sound like I'm full of ****.. lol..
I think the closest thing to what I do, would be MFFS.. I'm really good at that wave form, stuff.. I give a right or left hook to my bag and can see the impact come out the other side.
I don't have a mouth guard, but my mums a karate 3rd dan, so I could get the rest of the stuff.
And I have a cup... From paintball. -thumbs up sign- -

****! Yeah.. Typo.. lmao...
5ft 5...
And yeah, that stuff.
I've only tried it once on my mate... I think it's the reason he doesn't want to spar with me.. lmao..
I got him to hold padding, bout 6 inches thick, on his right shoulder...
I put a boxing glove on, gave him an overhand left and his ass went straight into the couch behind him.
He was complaining about his shoulder hurting for a while, too.. lol..
I bought those dvds off ebay.
What they're doing is a technique called a wave form.
In the simplest of explanations, it's basically using your body like a whip.
And what it achieves, is the force of your entire body weight into whatever you hit, through any body part you chose to strike with...
It's fuckin insane.
