that's a great compliment and i really appreciate that. i tried to stick to TWC as much as i could, and i just had it in my mind to keep it simple. i believe what my Sifu says and what i've been trying to say here, and that is if you keep practicing it enough, even just through drills, you'll train yourself to make it second nature, and a lot of wing chun came out naturally. but sparring is something very necessary, too, and i do believe i need to do it more. sparring with Vorpal was a great learning experience and it exposed things i need to work on.

what i don't understand is why there aren't more WC guys out there using their art when they spar. i shouldn't be one of the few people to do it on video when there are so many better WC fighters out there than me.

just as a side note, which i think is pretty interesting to mention, my Sifu Keith Mazza absolutely demolished me just last week. he handled me so easily, so effortlessly, that i honestly felt as though i would have done just as well if i didn't know any martial arts at all. my martial arts training became absolutely nothing when i sparred with him. i might as well have been fighting with a tank. but that's why i know WC works, because i can do it half decent, but my Sifu is a true master. he should be on film, not me.

Props for putting it out there but based off the two vids I watched. (It takes forever for them to load here) it seems WC or whatever has given him a lot of bad habits. He was eating punches in a light sparring match. In one I counted 4~5 clean shots in about 30 seconds with none on Vorpal. Not trying to be a dick but that video is an example why you shouldn't do WC/WT/whatever.
the one you're referring to was only in one video
    and is less experienced

    dv7:
This is a good beginning for you.
Training with 'aliveness' is all well and good.
Sparring with any and all other arts you can find is better.
Continue to do so, and video your efforts,
so you can critique your own performance,
and the relative strengths and weaknesses of your art.

WC's difficulties lie in it's inherent effective range.
When practitioner's spar each other, they know
what's coming, and can adjust their attacks and
    responses accordingly.

Evaluate without bias, and become a better fighter.
Where WC may not have a solution, find another, or
use WC to address the issue, and progress to one.

    my $.02,
    `~/

We figured that DV7 was giving up close to 50 lbs.

A considerable amount of that is my fifth limb however.

The guys there were a lot of fun to spar with. The were controlled, didn't get emotional and took and gave good contact. I'm hoping they show up at the next NYC TD.
