That aside, I second Dark Pheonix on Silat being the new 'Chun. It's got the same bullshit techniques, lack of resistance training, psuedo-RBSD d3adly flavor, AND substantially more mandancing.

the average poster here knows about as much about Silat as Iknow about macremia and I can't even spell it... **** all I believe is the quantity I am referring too as in "**** all" about. :bsflag:
This thread never was a high quality conversation - My friend vern Gilbert on the William Acquier thread.

Would you care to add evidence to your claim?
Perhaps in the form of a recording of Silat being used successfully in a high-stress environment?

and after twelve pages, we have gone full circle!

That's because McClaw's request is still yet to be fulfilled. Zero evidence tends to breed circular arguments.

the dog brothers play with Silat in their repetroire.

One of my favorite early MMA guys was the pure Judo stylist (forget his name) but how many people use just judo in MMA these days? compared to how many people use some judo?

Silat is used in a lot of weapons work particularly... maybe not wholesale anymore than any other art is used exclusively but it is used.. It is used copiously by the dog brothers along with Kali in their throwdowns.

    So there you go...

The last time I brought this up someone wanted to debate Kali and silat. The Dog Brothers use both.

I can't help but notice the lack of records in this statement. A video, perhaps? A series of photographs? A stenographer's play-by-play?
Maybe a video of these aforementioned Silat-playing Dog Brothers, with a series of annotations saying "here, at 1:16, that's Silat, not Kali" and the like?

It's not even a circular argument. It's a call for evidence that is being repeatedly met with hearsay.
