    Looks like good stuff! How do the rules differ from contemporary MMA rules (UFC for example)?

    Cool highlight!

    We're hoping to be able to start amateur MMA matches here in Norway too but due to strict laws we must have FILA Pankration rules where you cannot strike the head. It's better than nothing I guess and the new guys can get some experience before going abroad to fight fullcontact matches.

    Frankly, for a new scene, I think those rules are better. Less experienced guys are much more likely to get jacked up by headshots due to not defending properly. I really wish that Zuffa would have the foresight to actively promote and sponsor pankration or something like class D shooto in the states so that there would be a safe outlet for talent development. The american MMA scene throws guys in the deep end way early.

    It is amateur Pankration.
    Restriction of time of struggle in an orchestra - 1 minute. It is impossible to beat elbows in a head in an orchestra.
