What is with the CRKT hate? Now I admit the only CRKT knife I own is because they took over producing the Hissatsu from Bugei.com a while back, so my experience is limited to the Hissatsu series. However, I never had a Hissatsu series Blade break on me and my Hissatsu Folder is my daily carry that sees pretty heavy use. Like any knife it requires good blade care that includes cleaning and lubricating the deploy mechanism as well as sharpening (I do it once every few months).

While taking a bit to get used to the OutBurst assisted opening I find faster and more comfortable then the Kershaw "knub." The only knife that deploys faster is the my Emerson with its Wave Tech. Also CRKT has the AutoLAWKS tech while making the knife tough to close one handed, I don't have a folder that more sturdy once deployed.

well, besides the dumb acronyms, I guess I can't really fault my old CRKT for breaking when I tried to use it as an improvised chisel.

Back in the day, I was as hard on my knives as my women ;-)
Many things we do naturally become difficult only when we try to make them intellectual subjects. It is possible to know so much about a subject that you become totally ignorant.

Also, a Leatherman Wave is in the briefcase, purchased in a fit of whimsy because that's what I do whenever I see a leatherman - wave! And those who know me know I'm nothing if not whimsical.
Yeah, but you are a fucking giant douche bag when I bought your book and sent it to a female friend of mine and you accepted her as a friend on myspace but not me.

Then she sent me your book back with a bunch of menstrual blood on it, wtf?

I offered to buy my woman one of these coloured beauties, but she refused, having a very negative attitude towards blades other than kitchen knifes.

I don't miss a single opportunity to ridicule her, though, when we're outside and she's asking for a blade trying to open a package or cut something or so... ;-)

It's actually pretty amazing how few people I work with carry knives. It's also extremely annoying, because everyone at this point seems to think it's okay to just borrow mine. I'm going to stop carrying a pocket knife or multitool for a week. I predict chaos.

the folder is whatever is lightweight, legal, and on sale, since I lose them quickly. The tanto-thingy with custom sheath is for when I'm ridin' free along the river roads. The handle has a bottle opener. ( it's not a pocket knife, but it slips into my back pocket and under my shirt if need be)
