Can we please stop referring to all grappling in an MMA context as 'BJJ'? Annoys me when Rogan says it constantly, annoys me now. It seems I'm easily annoyed. If only Fedor had signed with the UFC, we could have already heard Rogan exclaim excitedly when the fight went to the ground "We're about to see some top of the food chain ju-jitsu, now!" Yanno, just for irony.

When he says that, he is usually referring to a BJJ black belt, which in fact would be top of the food chain Jiu-Jitsu.

I know that you live in the SF Bay Area, would you like to show up at one of mySAMBO [TM] classes? I love all me mates who come in and grind. Why not carry like them?!?]
I'd definitely like to show up at one of your Sambo classes, dude. When I have time and some extra money, I'm there.

Everyone who thinks BJJ in MMA is fucking perfect
It ain't. BJJ got this far, because of innovation. If no one innovates, it'll become stagnant. Seriously, none of your can think of anything that you don't like about BJJ in MMA?

Drop-ins are free. Pay if you decide to train consistently. Times are tough and the odd $ from sporadic students isn't worthy of charging.
Many things we do naturally become difficult only when we try to make them intellectual subjects. It is possible to know so much about a subject that you become totally ignorant.

Or a flying ambar, that would be amazing.

But really V1Y is right. I'd love to see some crazy moves, because they look cool, but the cooler moves are always way harder to pull off, which is why people tend not to do them.

But yeah, meat and potatoes grappling is a much safer approach than crazy exotic stuff unless you are way beyond your opponent in abilities.
